Crucial Crew is a multi-agency safety event, aimed at 10 to 11-year-olds. It is designed to provide children with vital life skills and safety advice.
A variety of organisations put on workshops, using scenarios to bring to life different situations.Whilst some workshops explored advice related to antisocial behaviours, others focussed on safety around alcohol, drugs and fireworks, how to escape house fires, inputs on domestic violence, first aid and Metrolink safety.
Jo and Jake described their favourite activity as the alcohol awareness one, "We had to put on 'drunk goggles' so we were disorientated and unable to see! We learnt a lot about the dangers of alcohol."
