Year 1 Hit the Ground Running in their First Week of Key Stage 1

Year 1 have made a fantastic start to Key Stage 1, completing their first week with enthusiasm, determination and an impressive approach to learning. From the moment they arrived in the classroom, the children have demonstrated #theforestway of doing things....
Thank you to those Nursery, Kindergarten and Reception parents who were able to come along to the “How We Teach… in the EYFS” evening.

📣🌟OUR PUPIL VOICE!
We held a special assembly this morning to present badges to our new School Council and Eco Council members.
Both councils play an important part in our Pupil Voice, giving children the opportunity to suggest ideas, take the lead and get involved in initiatives that help make our school a better place.
Our School Council has been running for many years, and pupils are very familiar with the process of gathering suggestions from their classmates and putting forward ideas for school improvements.
This year, we are also delighted to introduce our first-ever Eco Council, marking an exciting new chapter in Forest’s 102-year history. With children increasingly aware of sustainability and climate change, the Council will help promote eco-awareness across the school.
Our Year 6 leaders, RT and EJ, spoke about what they are looking forward to this year before bringing their council members together - two representatives from each class - for the whole school to see democracy in action.
We’re looking forward to seeing what our pupils achieve this year!
