Buddy Scheme Brings Learning and Lasting Friendship

Our popular Buddy Scheme has continued to grow this year, now all the Upper School classes are partnered with a younger class, creating meaningful friendships and valuable learning opportunities across the school. The benefits for our younger children are easy...
🌟A Busy Morning in Reception! 🌟 It’s hard to believe they’ve been in Reception for less than two weeks! 🥹 What a busy and productive morning! 👏
From independently organising their coats, homework and snacks, to confidently writing their full names with beautiful letter formation ✍️, our children are settling in wonderfully.
🗣️ They proudly shared their weekend news with the whole class, speaking clearly and confidently in front of their peers.
🥁 In Music with Ms Wellings, they explored rhythm using child-friendly drums, before continuing our ‘Transport’topic 🚗🚂, showing excellent pencil grip and control while colouring. 🎨
🔢 We finished with some fantastic counting work, too!
We couldn’t be prouder of their independence, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning. What an amazing start to Reception! ❤️🌟 #theforestway
A Busy Morning in Reception
It’s hard to believe that our Reception children have been at school for less than two weeks as they are so efficient with school routines and ready to learn as soon as they step through the classroom door.
From the moment they arrived, the children efficiently organised themselves for the day, independently hanging up their coats and placing their homework and snacks into their trays. 👏
They then settled beautifully and got to work practising writing their full names, showing such wonderful letter formation and a real determination to do their best. ✍️✨
🎶 Next, it was off to the Music Room for a fantastic lesson with Ms Wellings. The children had lots of fun playing child-friendly drums, developing their sense of rhythm and enjoying making music together. 🥁
Back in the classroom the children were excited to share their weekend news, where they spoke confidently and clearly to their peers. 🚂 They then continued their topic work on ‘Transport’, demonstrating excellent pencil grip and control as they carefully coloured their transport pictures. 🎨
🔢 To finish the morning, the children put their counting skills to the test, showing fantastic concentration and enthusiasm.
We are so incredibly proud of how confidently our Reception children are settling into school life.

We’re wishing all our Foresters the very best of luck as they take their 11+ Trafford Consortium Grammar School entrance exam on Monday!
Remember, you will be absolutely fine! Throughout your time at Forest, you have developed your knowledge and, most importantly, learned how to approach tests calmly and positively, giving yourself the best possible chance to shine.
Over the summer, you have shown incredible dedication by attending your weekly summer classes, continuing to practise and prepare while others were enjoying their holidays.
You’ve only been in Year 6 for a week and, with the countdown truly on, you have calmly approached quick five-minute Maths quizzes, Maths practice papers and English comprehensions.
We are so proud of you, Foresters! Good luck, you’ve got this!
