🌸 Caring Hands in Kindergarten! 🌸

Kindergarten students took part in their second in-class Character Education session this afternoon, with a focus on Caring Hands.

The children talked about how to handle delicate objects gently and carefully. Then Mrs Singer gave each child a gorgeous flower to look after, a lovely way to put those caring hands into practice.

We have been so impressed with how Kindergarten has embraced their new houses and with the thoughtful way they contribute in every Character Education session. What a wonderful way to start the year, and there is so much more to come.

Year 2 and 4’s Cheesy Morning - British Food Fortnight! 🧀

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to conclude our class buddy events than a very special visit from Chris, the Chorlton Cheesemonger, to Years 2 and 4!

Chris arrived with milk, starter culture, rennet and salt, and then made cheese right in front of our eyes! It was fascinating to watch the milk transform, and Chris explained each step of the process so clearly that both classes were completely captivated.

To top it all off, we got to taste the delicious Mrs Kirkham’s Red Lancashire Cheese that Chris brought along. Well done to the children for trying an unfamiliar cheese - some liked it a lot, some had a little nibble, and others politely said ‘thank you, but it’s not for me’!

A huge thank you to Chris for so generously giving up his time to share his skills and passion with us. We learned so much and had a brilliant time!
