Year 3 have been busy putting their English skills to the test with a wonderful Easter writing project!
The challenge was to write and produce their own Easter story, using the wide range of writing techniques they have been developing this year. From carefully put together sentences and ambitious vocabulary to the use of dialogue, descriptive language, and varied punctuation, the children worked hard to showcase the high academic standards expected in Year 3.
To make the project even more special, Year 3 shared their stories with their Reception buddies. Judging by the big smiles on the Reception children’s faces, the stories were a huge hit!
A wonderful example of the high quality work produced in Year 3 and the pride that the children take. Well done, Year 3! 🌟

Outstanding Work from our Fantastic Year 2
We are so excited to share some of the fantastic high quality work being produced by our Year 2 children! It’s hard to believe they are only 6 or 7 years old.
In English, the children are writing high quality sentences using descriptive language. They have also been learning to identify and understand homophones, which helps them improve both their spelling and their understanding when reading and writing. The class recently wrote wonderfully detailed descriptive pieces about their residential trip to Burwardsley, and we have also seen some brilliant creative writing as the children came up with their own ideas and wrote exciting adventure stories.
In Maths, the children have been working hard on column addition and division, and doing such a brilliant job using the ‘operations’.
The standards are incredibly high, and it is clear that these children are building the strong foundations they need to be more than ready for the challenges of Key Stage 2.
