We are so excited for Culture Week 2026 at Forest! 🌍✨
Next week, we’ll be celebrating the wonderful diversity of our Forest family with a week full of learning, creativity, music, food and fun. Our children will explore cultures from around the world through hands on workshops, art, dance, sport and delicious tasting experiences.
Here’s a snapshot of what’s coming up:
🇨🇳 Chinese Culture Day
Chinese New Year workshops in EYFS, including lantern making, dragon crafts and Year of the Horse activities
Traditional Chinese woodblock printing and paper-cutting workshops for KS1
Chinese lacquer fan-making workshops for KS2
Chinese ink wash painting and themed art across school
A special Chinese inspired lunch including sweet and sour chicken, dumplings, spring rolls and coconut milk pudding
🌍 Multicultural Day
African drumming workshops
Spanish and Jamaican themed sessions
Italian pizza making
Art inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat
Outdoor mandala making
Music from cultures around the world
Mexican themed lunch with tacos and churros
🇮🇳 Indian Culture Day
Indian dance workshops with Napur Lele
Bollywood dance inspired by CBeebies Let's Celebrate
Kabaddi in PE
Artwork inspired by Indian costumes
A delicious lentil dansak curry, jelabi and mini milk treats
Throughout the week, children will also explore identity, family history, global artists such as Frida Kahlo and Wilfredo Lam, take part in cricket house competitions, and welcome parent visitors to share their language, food and traditions.
