#ThrowbackThursday ‘Celebrating Our Writers of the Week’
#ThrowbackThursday. We celebrate our incredible young authors at Forest during our ‘Writers of the Week’ assemblies in which a child from each year group from Reception - Year 6 is celebrated.
Looking back over this year, we have been amazed by the variety and quality of writing across the school:
🌱 Reception have been developing their early writing skills through imaginative stories, exploring characters, creating sentences and sharing their ideas with growing confidence.
📝 Year 1 and Year 2 have brought stories to life through creative descriptions, adventure writing and developing their ability to organise their ideas clearly.
📖 Year 3 have written imaginative narratives, including their wonderful Easter stories created for their younger buddies, carefully adapting their language for a younger audience.
✍️ Year 4 have developed their writing through exciting challenges, crafting stories, improving their vocabulary and creating engaging pieces for different purposes.
📚 Year 5 became authors and illustrators as part of our Buddy Scheme, creating their own storybooks for younger pupils. They had to think carefully about storytelling, vocabulary and how their words would inspire their readers.
🌟 Year 6 have continued to impress us with mature, thoughtful writing, developing their own voice and producing pieces that showcase their creativity and confidence.
Our Writer of the Week assemblies remind us that every child has a story to tell. They celebrate not just the finished piece of writing, but the imagination, perseverance and care that goes into creating it.
We can't wait to see the wonderful writing pieces our Foresters produce next year!
