Year 4 consolidated their History topic on the ‘Tudors’ with a trip to Ordsall Hall.
During their visit, Year 4 delved into the life of Sir John Radcliffe, who resided at Ordsall Hall, when Queen Elizabeth l reigned. They gained insight into the lavish lifestyle of the wealthy Tudors, learning about how they dressed and what they ate, which all symbolised their wealth.
The children also learnt about the domestic duties of Tudor times, discovering how tasks such as kitchen management involved fetching water from the canal using a yoke and cooking meat on a spit over an open flame for hours and hours.
The trip finished with lots of smiles and laughter as the children took part in a Tudor dance.
