On Wednesday 22nd January, the annual ISA ‘The North Regional Qualifiers’ for Cross Country took place in Scarisbrick Hall School, in Ormskirk. Forest took a large team of 29 enthusiastic and competitive runners from years 3 - 6. The children showed their maturity and eagerness to represent their school and region in lining up against approximately 150 others at the start of a gruelling wet and muddy 1.5km or 2km race.
The children all represented the school with pride, donning their purple Forest cross country vest in the vast sea of multi-coloured tops. We were very proud of each and every child throughout the 4 races we took part in. The children put their all into every step of the race and helped the school to achieve one of its highest team points scores in the school’s long history. We were delighted to receive official confirmation that our Y3/4 boys' running team were crowned champions and both our Y3/4 girls' team and Y5/6 girls' team were both placed in the top ten in their category!
We can also celebrate the achievements of having children from years 3, 4 and 6 qualify to the ISA Cross Country National Finals in March. An incredible opportunity for these pupils to further represent their region at a national ISA event. We can be very proud of our Cross Country team.
