The Meaning of Harvest: Year 2

The Meaning of Harvest: Year 2

All the Year 2 children have made a sensational start to the academic year, in true Forester style.

Last week, they thoroughly enjoyed their Alternative Harvest where they had fun creating leaf crowns, which they proudly wore as they left the classroom at the end of the day.  This craft session was the culmination of the last few PSHE lessons where the children have been learning about the importance of Harvest in a practical farming sense but have also developed their understanding of it being a time to help those less fortunate than themselves.  It has been invaluable for the children to have an opportunity  to reflect upon what they are grateful for in their lives and to consider the difficulties facing people, such as food poverty.  The donations which were brought into school for the Salvation Army will help those most in need and we are very proud at Forest for the kindness shown by our school community towards others.
