Pandemic-Style PE: A Healthy Body is a Healthy Mind

Pandemic-Style PE: A Healthy Body is a Healthy Mind

Forest Preparatory School is committed to a broad and balanced Sports, Fitness and PE education. Despite the current pandemic, we have been lucky enough to continue to ensure our pupils have been provided with a range of activities to develop healthy bodies and healthy minds. Sadly, school practice and competitions have had to be postponed this term and we have all been disappointed at not attending any NW sporting competitions.

PE, as with many other aspects within the curriculum, has been looking slightly different now the children have returned to our school, however we are still committed to providing high quality lessons. Nursery, EYFS and KS1 have enjoyed taking part in yoga this term and KS2 pupils have been perfecting their dance moves during lessons. During Games, the Upper School pupils have been back on track perfecting their techniques and skills in football, rugby, hockey and netball, whilst ensuring  all PE planning takes into account social distancing rules.

We will- of course- continue to be led by the government guidelines to ensure that our children are keeping safe in PE lessons during the Covid-19 pandemic and do hope the spring term brings a return to after school practice, competitions and our weekly swimming lessons.
