The run up to Christmas has been a busy but fun time here at Forest. We have had our own Christmas Countdown made up of lots of festive events for all year groups.
The Christmas Toy Appeal Assembly kick started the festive season. At Forest, children learn all about the importance of giving to others at Christmas so this is the perfect opportunity to give to those who may be in need. As always, all our Foresters were very generous and brought in lots of great toys, which will help bring a smile to another child’s face on Christmas morning. We would like to say a huge thank you to all our Forest families for your kind donations.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a Nativity. This year’s much anticipated nativity, ‘It’s a Census Get ….Me Out of Here’, proudly performed by Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 was a sell out and a sea of smiling faces could be seen in the audience.
On Tuesday 6th December Nursery and Kindergarten celebrated Christmas. Kindergarten performed ‘A Christmas Wish’ in the school hall to parents and grandparents. Kindergarten shone like stars, with their super singing, fantastic costumes and huge smiles. The Nursery children hosted their own party, with their families they produced a Christingle and sang Christmas songs.
Children from all year groups were invited to go on a Christmas trip. Nursery and Kindergarten children visited The Dunham Barn to see a very special person. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 went to Tatton Park, which was ‘dressed’ for Christmas. Children in Years 3–6 had a fun afternoon of bowling.
The week ended with our heartwarming event ‘Carols in the Grounds’ where all Foresters proudly sung carols along with parents, grandparents and guardians. We had a visit from Father Christmas at the PA Christmas Fair, alongside ‘enterprise’ stalls hosted by a few year groups.
Our celebrations culminated with the Upper School carol service which took place at St Peter’s Church in Hale and our Chamber Choir performing to our friends at Newhaven Residential Home, bringing everyone festive cheer to our elderley neighbours. The choir sang a beautiful array of songs and everyone joined together for some festive classics. Thank you, to all the residents at Newhaven for the warm welcome.
We wish all our Forest Families a wonderful Christmas.
