Football
In a similar fashion to the next season's premier league kit being revealed, Forest Prep’s football team had their very own opportunity to unveil a brand new home kit. The kit was very kindly funded by our school’s fantastic Parents Association and wider school community, to whom we would like to say a huge thank you!
To celebrate the new purple Forest kit, a friendly set of fixtures was organised for the Year 3/4 and 5/6 boys football teams, against Forest Park Prep from Sale.
The boys across the four year groups all showed ‘The Forest Way’ mentality despite the damp conditions. Showing off their skills and even a couple of goals, they definitely brought lots of smiles and pride to the parents and teachers who braved the rain to support them from the side lines.
Cross country
At the first Cross Country meet of the school year, we had a strong and determined team assemble at Wythenshawe Park Athletics Track.
The event was well attended by many schools from our local area as well as Manchester. It gave the children a fantastic opportunity to represent their school and also compete against an array of talented runners.
The children each ran a fantastic race in their own age groups and impressed the Forest staff and watching parent with their determination and stamina, super effort!
Water polo
Our Year 6 Water Polo team took part in Forest’s first ISA sports event of the year. Mr Hyde led the mixed team of girls and boys over to Rochdale to compete against a tough competition of northern independent schools.
The team worked well together, playing on each player's individual strengths, to come through the group stages, quarter-finals and semi-finals without losing a single game. After an impressive start, they pushed on and carried on to win in the final.
A set of comprehensive performances shown by the team lead to the overall victory and a fantastic shield to go into the Forest trophy cabinet for the whole school to be proud of.
A huge well done to our Year 6 Water Polo team!
