A record number of Forest pupils participated in the 7th annual Bowdon Festival over the weekend; 35 pupils performed in piano, singing and drama classes (both competitive and non-competitive) receiving tremendous praise and encouragement from audiences and adjudicators alike.

WG & MH (Yr 3) - 2nd in Piano Duet
LA & JH (Yr 3) - 3rd in Piano Duet
IM (Yr 5) - 3rd in Piano Grade 2
GH (Yr 5) - 3rd in Piano Grade 2
IH (Yr 5) - 2nd in Piano Grade 3
ZW (Yr 2) - 1st in Solo Poetry
PF (Yr 4) - 1st in Solo Poetry
ZA (Yr 4) - 2nd in Solo Poetry
EC (Yr 5) - 2nd in Solo Drama
OM & ON (Yr 5) - 2nd in Duologue
LA & AS (Yr 6) - 2nd in Duologue
Ms. Wellings and Ms. Flint were absolutely delighted with all who performed. Ms. Wellings commented, “These pupils put in hours of their own time practising each week, so to have such a wonderful opportunity to perform makes it all worthwhile. Some pupils only started lessons in September - to have the courage to perform in front of an audience after only about 15 lessons is just remarkable.”
The Bowdon Festival is run entirely by volunteers and based at St Mary’s Parish Centre. If any parent would be able to donate three hours of their time next year, to help with stewarding etc, the organisers would be very grateful. Please get in touch with Ms. Wellings or the School Office.
