Our 99th Year has officially started

Our 99th Year has officially started

It’s unbelievable to think that we’ve already completed the first half term. It only seemed a week ago since we opened the gates for the 99th year to begin. A new set of Nursery children in their uniforms and our Year 6 children sitting their 11+. I always love the first day back. Having the school community return is always special.

With that in mind, I tried to research what is a school community?

Here’s the answer;

“A school community is defined as people or groups of people that work together for the common interest of facilitating effective learning. The school community aims to provide a platform for quality engagements between teachers, students, and parents.”

Whilst the above all sounds very clear and concise, I realised that it is near impossible to achieve this without those important components; our pupils, our staff and our parents who all create #theforestway of life.

This half term has been a whirlwind of excitement and activity, with many old favourites returning and new activities and events on offer. Favourite events such as the Harvest Festival and the Roman Assemblies have been on the calendar as well as our Autumn assessment week, where teachers were incredibly proud of their class. We look forward to sharing their academic achievements after half term through our Autumn Progress Reports and parents evenings.

On a personal note, I would like to thank the whole Forest community for the support you have shown over the last half term. After 99 years, the community continues to thrive.

I hope you all have a much deserved half term break.
