You may have decided to go down the prep school route for your child. Now, how do you choose which Prep school is ‘right’ for your child and family?
Here is a brief summary of what makes us ‘unique’ and why you might want to come and find out more about us:
91% of our Year 6 pupils are moving onto a selective grammar school in September 2024.
Attainment levels in Reading, Maths, and Writing are at least 23% higher than the UK schools benchmark (Juniper Results 2024).
Our staff enjoy working at Forest, so we have a very low staff turn over. This is comforting to children as there are always familiar friendly faces around. In our Early Years department we have a combined experience of over 80+ years, which brings with it the knowledge and expertise that helps in helping children develop their Early Learning Goals.
Our staff/pupil ratios are approximately 1 to 12.
We have close communications between teachers and parents, this two-way communication helps to form an in-depth knowledge of every child.
We have a school therapy dog, ‘Maggie’, chickens and two pet tortoises, ‘George and Mildred’. These contribute to the happy environment that shines through at Forest, which children thrive in.
Children join us in Nursery and from that day they are stretched and challenged in an educationally fun way. They then continue to grow and develop as they progress through the school.
We offer lots of opportunities to our Foresters to which help with personal development and life skills. From Year 1 upwards all children have weekly swimming lessons, they go on residential trips (overnight stays) in Year 2, Year 5 and Year 6. Plus, we have a wide range of extracurricular clubs that run after school. These range from Science to Archery to Spanish to Yoga. At Forest we are proud of the ‘happy’ environment our children learn in. We have very high expectations of the way our children behave and present themselves. Consequently, our Foresters leave us as respectful members of their local community or any environment they encounter.
We strongly believe that ‘school days should be happy days’. After all, happy children learn and thrive. We have themed fun days to mark special occasions, such as the royal jubilee, coronation, etc.
We have created something very unique at Forest. Our school has a strong family feel, set amidst picturesque grounds and a charming original house brimming with character, creating a homely feel.
