Our Year 4 children have had a busy start to the term with Mr Francis. A focus in their writing this half term has been adding further detail, using subordinate and embedded clauses. All children have worked incredibly hard to achieve this goal, with great success. In addition, they have been exploring how to add suspense to their writing, with remarkable results.
In maths, Mr Francis has been consolidating both the children's grid and short method multiplication techniques, to enable the children to have a choice when answering questions. The children were able to justify their choices each time. Great work Year 4!
To add to their busy few weeks, the children researched the celebration of Diwali; learning about the customs and traditions as well as appreciating similarities to other religious festivals. The children were extremely grateful for their Diwali gifts, received by DA's parents. We hope all our Forest families had a wonderful Diwali.
