Year 6 pupils recently had the pleasure of visiting a charity with which we have helped raise money for this year - Reuben's Retreat.
Based in the North West, Reuben's Retreat aims to support children who have a life limiting and/or life threatening illness and their immediate family – parents and siblings. The staff and volunteers also offer support for parents and siblings that have a lost a child.
Year 6 were honoured to be invited along to discover more about how the charity operates and they had a very interesting and informative morning.
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at Reuben's Retreat for taking the time to show us round.
Following our visit to Reuben's Retreat, the Year 6 children wanted to do a small something to raise money. These ideas were initiated at home. Some girls have made pompoms and bracelets to sell, a group of boys are doing a sponsored rugby event and another group of girls plan to stay in a box for 24 hours. All their own ideas and revolve around raising money for such a worthy cause!
