New Initiatives to Keep our Children Learning

New Initiatives to Keep our Children Learning

In these trying times, we have all been faced with a level of challenge which we had not anticipated. Here at Forest, before we were instructed to close our doors, we had begun to form a contingency plan for how to implement remote learning for our children. This forward planning was crucial to the seamless continuation of learning and by using feedback from both staff and parents, we have continued to develop the process over the past few weeks.

Using Google Classroom as the backbone of our remote learning, teachers have now introduced Google Meets with their classes. Whether it is to register their class in the morning, give instructions for tasks, complete spelling tests, do group reading sessions, provide additional help/ clarification or just to have a group chat about their day, the introduction of Google Meet has proven to be an effective means of keeping the communication open between staff and children.

We are extremely thankful to all our parents for the unwavering support and commitment they have shown to both their children and the school at this difficult time. Additionally, we could not be prouder of our staff for adopting these new initiatives into their practice. There is only one way, the Forest Way.
