Mental Health Week: Healthy Mind, Healthy Body

Mental Health Week: Healthy Mind, Healthy Body

This week marks Children’s Mental Health Week, 2021. Since the first lockdown last year, mental health has become an increasingly prominent topic in the news.

This year, the theme of Children’s Mental Health Week is ‘Express Yourself’ and is focused on getting children and adults to find creative ways to share their thoughts, feelings and emotions through activities like music, art, dance or photography. It is an opportunity to remind ourselves not just how important our own children’s mental health is, but also raising awareness of parental wellbeing too.

Teacher’s have been busy incorporating the theme into their weekly lessons and Mrs Thomson, our Pastoral Leader, has set up a ‘Happy Hub’ forum on Google Classroom, which has been providing all our Foresters with daily posts of podcasts, stories, activities and videos to help support their wellbeing.

We want to take this opportunity to not only thank and congratulate our pupils, who continue to astound us with their home-learning efforts, but also parents, who, without them, we would not be able to help our children continue to achieve their true potential remotely.
